Our strong commitment to quality and community care — especially for those who are disadvantaged, living with a disability, socially isolated, or geographically distant — earned us the Adelaide Plains Council Community Group of the Year Award in 2024/25.

About The Plains Community Group

We are The Plains Community Group. We formed in 2023 to bring high-quality and affordable events to the Adelaide Plains. We are proud to be named the 2025 Community Group of the Year in the Adelaide Plains Council region.

The Plains Community Group (PCG) works to:

  • Create and promote a variety of events across the Adelaide Plains Council (APC) region
  • Showcase events that connect people and strengthen our community
  • Build community resilience and help disadvantaged families attend affordable events in the region, such as The Twinkling
  • Support and promote events in the visual and performing arts across the APC region
  • Engage the community through accessible and inclusive events that reflect local needs
  • Collaborate with other charitable groups within the APC region

We are a small team of volunteers from Two Wells, Mallala, Korunye, Lewiston, Parham and surrounding areas, aged 18 and up. We hold monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at the Old Two Wells Council Chambers from 6pm.

We are always looking for new volunteers. If you are interested, please contact us at info@theplainscommunitygroup.com.au

or come along to one of our meetings.

Our flagship event is The Twinkling. This is our main focus each year, but we also aim to bring more fundraising events to the region, including a Quingo Night and other community-focused activities.

Events repeated each year

Our goal is to create events for you! There is nothing we love more than the community spirit lifting up the people of our area!

We are busy planning some exciting new events and collaborations at the moment – watch this space! We’re working on a range of events and activities set among communities in the Adelaide Plains area.
