The Plains Community Group are always looking for new members to join the committee, or people willing to volunteer any amount of time, no contribution is too small! Everyone has such different skills and talents, we would love to for you to be able to utilise these abilities to serve your community.
Volunteering
Even though not everyone can commit to joining the PCG, we would still love for you to be involved in a less formal capacity. We know how hectic life can be and making the commitment of joining a committee can be a bit much, but don’t fret! You can still help out by devoting only as much as you can through a small volunteer role.
- Handing out leaflets at our events
- Attending our events, perhaps even in costume to spread festive cheer!
- Running an activity
- Contribute to the running and/or organisation of our event
- Selling raffle tickets
- Reminder phone calls
- Set up & clean up of events
- Welcoming people to events
- Packing trail bags
- Promotion of events (word of mouth, sharing PCG/Twinkling posts)
All volunteers require police/Working With Children Checks if they wish to be involved with children based events and activities.
Joining the committee
In addition to the above, becoming a PCG Committee Member involves;
- Contributing to group discussions
- Willingness and availability to attend and help out at events
- Attending monthly meetings
- Collecting donations
- Acquiring vouchers
